Maokong is located in Wenshan
district of Taipei is popular for growing tea and its Gondola ride. So high tea
is a must experience when visiting Maokong which me and my family did not try. Instead,
we had lunch.
We drove uphill to Long Men
Restaurant in Maokong for our Christmas lunch. Long Men restaurant is famous
for its spectacular overlooking view of the whole Taipei city. They serve mostly Taiwanese food, we enjoyed
the whole chicken we ordered, wasn’t sure if it was roasted or fried (I
think it’s fried) but it taste really good, they won’t chop it for you (we
tried to request) but they say they provided a plastic hand gloves for a
reason! So we ate it with our hands! Feels so good though! Spectacular view,
great cold-sunny weather and great food! What a great Christmas lunch! J we will definitely come
back t this restaurant and try their afternoon tea!
(Tips: (1) DO make reservation as
I don’t think they can accommodate walk-ins especially if its high season. (2) Cash
only (3) If visiting in the morning or noon make sure it’s not a raining else it’ll
be foggy and you won’t appreciate it)
From Longman restaurant you can
walk downhill straight ahead and you’ll see the the Maokong Station, we took a long ride for about 30 mins before we reached Taipei Zoo.
