Hiking Mount Krobo in Volta Lake, Ghana, West Africa

At the top of Mt.Krobo

Almost a month now when we decided to to hike Mt.Krobo. I cant say it was an easy hike (maybe easy for others) though it was a quick hike compare to that of our hike experience with Wli Falls, its was a rocky slippery steep hike.

A quarter away from the peak

We parked at the foot of the mountain, from there you can see a path that led steeply up through the rocks and tall grass, that is where you can start your hike. That time when we arrived, there were no tour guides so we do not really know if there is any fee that we need to pay, we can only see kids playing around and because we do not want to hike the mountain by ourselves we asked some kids to come with us. While we were a quarter away from the peak a guy was able to meet us and informed us that we should have register but since we are already there we just decided to continue the hike and talk about it later. But at the end of the hike, when we got back to the foot we just gave around 20cedis as tip and left (he said it wasn't enough and still ask for more, but believe me 10 or 20cedis is enough).

Mount Krobo is a beautiful getaway from Accra for nature lovers. The fresh air and views are incomparable. They say it is also one of the top spots for rock-climbing in Ghana, but never had the chance to try it ( I'M SCARED LOL).
